Hair Care Tips for Warding off Men's Hair Loss

By Amber Kumm

Can appropriate hair care deter men's hair loss from happening? The short answer is: not usually. A more extensive answer is: the bulk of hair loss happens because of things unrelated to hair care or scalp care. Proper care of the hair and scalp, however, certainly cannot hurt a man's efforts in slowing down the rate at which he loses his hair.

In some circumstances, decent hair care can do a lot to make you feel like you are actively striving for less hair loss and thinning. This article shares some of the best ways to take care of your hair. There are plenty of articles out there that will tell you not to wash your hair every day.

The reason for this is that when you wash you are washing away the essential oils your hair needs to stay healthy and strong. New hair growth however is not part of the protected areas.

Using a good conditioner can aide hair strength and help keep frizz under control. Doing this will keep you from ruining your hair follicles and clogging pores not to mention save you money on gels and sprays. To keep from causing other clogging issues you can try using a facial exfoliating scrub on your scalp a few times a month.

After you have showered, if you have super fine hair, you may want to spray some gentle detangler onto your hair before combing it. Pulling too hard on tangles can cause you to accidentally tear hair right out of your scalp. This is not at all what you want to do if you are already stressed about losing your hair.

The detangler makes it easier for you to decrease the tangles in your hair after showering and aids in the protection of your hair from unintentional damage than may occur while your hair is in the drying process.

Regular scalp massages are a good way to promote circulation. Not only do scalp massages feel good, they increase blood flow to your scalp. Greater circulation can increase the rate at which new hair grows. Scalp massages can be done by your wife, your friend, your boss, yes even your kids! Just like when you have a headache and you rub your temples, you can also rub the rest of your scalp in the same manner. Just don't put yourself to sleep while you are at work!

The nice thing about scalp massages is that anybody can give them to you. You can even do them for yourself if you have a few minutes of time. Be careful not to put yourself to sleep when you should be working. Most men are concerned with their hair loss. How often do you find yourself wondering if you are going bald?

At the same time, making sure that care well for your scalp and your hair can do quite a bit for assisting you in making sure that the hair you do have left looks the best it can!
