It is normal and part of natural hair renewal process to lose about forty to eighty hairs a day. But the problem starts when the volume of hair loss increases. This excessive hair loss is a problem worldwide, only the factors behind varies individually. Some of the best hair loss treatment solutions range from hair growth vitamins to hair transplants.

The most common problem amongst men worldwide is the baldness, which can start between twenties to forties. It generally begins at the temples and work its way backwards. In some cases of male pattern baldness it can start at the top of the head with a balding patch and spread from there. Genes can be the cause behind such cases of hair loss.

For women the menopause can cause the hair to thin and fall because of the shifting ratio of estrogen and testosterone. However this leads to bald spots than receding hairline.

Fungal infections like ringworm and related parasites can also lead to hair loss. Certain illnesses like liver and kidney disease, thyroid conditions and diabetes affect hair renewal process can also lead to hair loss. This kind of hair loss can be controlled by medication and treatment.

For women, another cause of hair loss is a hormone imbalance called polycystic ovary syndrome which hinders estrogen production and absorption resulting in thinning of hair; it requires lifelong hair loss treatments. Chemicals you ingest or use cosmetically can be a cause of hair loss. Poor diet and nutrition can cause your hair to lack the protective oils it needs to be healthy, causing it to become dull and brittle; taking a good multivitamin, and eating lots of protein will help stop this kind of hair loss.

Your hair is delicate so avoid using strong chemicals like straightners and dyes and also excess heat from curling iron and frequent blow-drying. Try and stop any kind of damage to your scalp, be it from pulling, tight hair-dos etc. While washing your hair never use your nails also rub with your finger tips. When choosing hair products choose ones that have herbal or natural ingredients and help in stopping hair loss.

Try and keep your body nourished and healthy and your mind free from unnecessary stress. Techniques like yoga, forced relaxation and meditation often help in reducing hair loss.
