The Many Benefits Of Castor Oil

By Ben Mester

Castor oil is an oil that has been around for quite a long time. Recently it has seen a major resurgence in popularity due to a number of factors. Castor oil is excellent for multiple systems of the body. One thing it's great for is the hair. Another is the skin. This has been rediscovered recently as more people discover the inherent problems in most cosmetics out there.

What are these innate pitfalls? Many lotions and creams are made with filler compounds that help the lotions maintain their consistency, but are not often healthy for the skin. These compounds include things like mineral oil, paraben, and more, which are known to clog the pores and cause persistent problems.

Cold pressed oils are gaining a huge resurgence partially because of the fact that they don't contain any fillers. Cold pressed oils are made of only pure oil. Not just that, but they are usually power packed with nutrients that are readily soaked up through the skin, providing nourishment that is frequently lacking in many people's skin.

Cold pressed castor oil has been demonstrated to be very valuable to both the skin and the hair. The nutritional elements found in castor oil help to moisturize and bring balance, but they also penetrate far down past the surface skin layers and down into the deep connecting tissues. This is a huge benefit over other cosmetics on the market. Castor oil has a low molecular mass that gives it the ability to penetrate deeper than almost any other compound.

Because of this, castor oil is unrivaled in its capacity to break up and repair scar tissue. Castor oil is very cheap to buy and has been employed for years as a home remedy for scars and numerous skin conditions. Though it dropped out of use for a lot of the last couple of decades, it's starting to gain popularity once more.
