Pick Me Up Before You Go Go Granola

By Chloe Prichards

Too many people usually skip breakfast, but were you aware that a hearty breakfast is considered the most crucial chow time of anyone's whole day? Filling up with goodness to start the day helps to kickstart your metabolism and will keep you mentally sharp all day.

Because it is the most crucial chow time of anyone's entire day, it is important that it's a nutritious meal with all the nutrients that you can need for the whole day. Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is one of those critical nutrients that our bodies must get every day. Vitamin B7 helps us maintain appropriate cellular respiration levels and can help us feel energetic and strong all the day long.

VITAMIN B7 FOUND IN FOODS

Biotin foods are all around us, each of us only need to be taught which ones these foods are and how we could put together really great tasting meals with them. In this recipe you'll find a perfect biotin-rich recipe that is filled with a day's worth of biotin.

The recipe below makes around 8-12 granola bars, depending on how large you choose to slice them. Making the granola bars can take fifteen minutes to prepare and twenty-five minutes baking in the oven.

MUESLI INGREDIENTS

* 2 cups oats, rolled

* 1 cup chopped almonds

* 2/3 cup honey

* 1 cup raisins (you can mix in dates and prunes)

* 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce

* 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

* tbsp vanilla extract

GETTING READY

* Preheat your oven to 325 Fahrenheit.

* In an 8x8-inch glass baking pan, line the bottom and sides with baking paper.

* In a large bowl, stir together honey, cinnamon, applesauce & extract of vanilla. Now mixed, add in oats, stirring until all oats are completely coated. Mix in almonds and raisins until they're coated, too.

* Spoon your muesli across the bottom of the waxed paper. Spread your muesli into the baking pan, making sure that it is all evenly spread across the bottom of the pan. Tightly pack the mixture into the pan.

* Put your baking pan into your oven and bake for twenty-five minutes. Remove the pan from your oven allowing it to cool. If using a metal baking pan, you can even place it into your freezer for a few minutes. If you're using a glass pan, please do not put it into the freezer! You might risk breaking the glass pan, and most importantly you could risk losing your granola bar snacks!

* Once the mix is down to room temperature, remove the granola from the pan by pulling on the wax paper. Cut into bars however large you would like.
