Healthy Hair Care Tips For Women's Hair Loss

By Eric Huff

Whether or not you will lose your hair is really up to your genetic code and internal workings. Caring for your hair can, however, have an effect on the timing of your hair loss, if this is your fate. If you keep your scalp and hair healthy, you can postpone your hair loss, even if your family history makes it unlikely that you can avoid it forever. The problem is, it can be hard to decide what to do with so many differing ideas on the subject. The following are some hair care tips that have worked well over the years to help women prevent hair loss.

Eat a healthy diet. It's really true, if you want healthier hair, you should improve the way you eat. Make sure that you get enough protein since that is what primarily makes your hair. Your physician can advise you further on eating the right nutrients to maintain the vitality of your hair. Iron is something else you may need to increase. Or you might require more Vitamin D or potassium. After consulting with a doctor, you may end up with a whole new way of eating.

Just try to avoid pulling because it puts stress and strain on your scalp and it weakens the hair. If you do that too much for too long you can begin shedding a lot of hair. Sure, sometimes a tight hair style can look fashionable and good, but it's too much stress and making it a little looser will help a lot.

Blow drying your hair is best left for those times when you are in a big rush. If you are looking for the best hair dryer, it's the air. This is true. Direct heat focused on your hair makes it more brittle. Too much heat will cause increased oil production by the scalp, which is not a sensation your head generally likes. If your hair gets too oily, you will have wasted your time washing it in the first place. Air drying is healthy and it's easy. You don't need a brush or a drier, only your comb!

Get your hair cut often by a good hairdresser. We cannot say with certainty that your hair will be healthier if you do this. One thing it can achieve, though, is helping your hair look its best. This is important if you are fighting against women's hair loss. It makes sense to keep whatever hair you have looking its best, doesn't it? You also want to know about hair loss as soon as possible so you visit your doctor, and your hairdresser is someone who would be able to spot this early on. Hopefully, by catching it early, you could prevent it from becoming a major problem!

That does not mean, however, that they should go down without a fight. How much or little hair you eventually have will often be determined by how well you took care of it. Unless you have a genetic hair loss issue, just using a healthy hair care regimen will keep that hair on your head far into the future. Knowing about healthy hair is vital, but actually taking action on these tips is even more important.
