The Real Key To Control Hair Loss In Women

By Janine Hermosa

There is no doubt that women need good, solid information on how to control hair loss. This is because it has been scientifically proven that the condition is as real in women as it is in men. Females even have it worse because there is a lot of pressure to have beautiful hair. This has always been a standard for feminine beauty. It is therefore a valid query to ask about the existence of possible hair fall solutions.

The real culprit in the condition in both genders is hormones. DHT, which is a male hormone is generated from testosterone and is responsible for damaging the follicles. In their damaged state, they are unable to nourish existing hair and support the growth of new strands. Women are not exempt from the effects of DHT because they have this in their bodies too. Estrogen normally manages DHT but when female hormone levels fluctuate, DHT can wreak havoc.

In women, the condition takes on the form of general or diffuse thinning. There are very few who experience complete balding. In some individuals, bald patches may appear but this can be the result of either a rare autoimmune disorder accompanied by severe illness or tight hairstyling which can pull clumps of hair from the roots.

Since hormones are to blame for the female condition, it's only natural for people to look towards hormone treatments. This has worked well for males. There are a couple of DHT blockers that men can use to their advantage. The same cannot be said for women. Although minoxidil can be used in small amounts, other forms of medication are unsafe or dangerous for them to take.

There are some females who have the choice to go for hormone replacement therapy. This however, is not an option for every single female hair loss sufferer. There are restrictions on who can qualify as a procedure candidate. Even those who qualify though aren't completely spared from experiencing side effects.

All that's really left for women is to take the natural treatment course. This does not necessarily mean taking herbal products. In a lot of cases, this simply means avoiding too much stress, exercising regularly, eating nutritious food and taking vitamin capsules. There are studies that show that the B complex vitamins in particular are good for hair health. Since it is impossible for a lot of individuals to get their recommended daily nutritional needs, vitamin intake makes sense.

Be very mindful that researchers have not completely gone into the topic of hair fall and the effects of good nutrition on it. There is a need for more research to verify the advantages of taking supplements for the hair. Regardless of the true effects of hair vitamins though, it is obvious to anyone that eating right, hoping to control hair loss, is never a bad thing. Moreover, good food, exercise and vitamin intake can additional help you feel a whole lot better physically and emotionally.
